D9D9 Captcha Types: What Each Check Asks of You

A captcha is a check that tells a person from a script.

D9D9 403 Forbidden and Access Denied on Your PhoneA 403 Forbidden means the server understood your request and refused it.
D9D9 502 Bad GatewayA 502 Bad Gateway means a server acting as a gateway got an invalid reply from the server behind it.
D9D9 Landscape Mode and Portrait ModeLandscape mode is the phone held sideways.
D9D9 Phone Number FormatWhen a form already shows +63, type your mobile number without the leading 0.
D9D9 Push NotificationsWhen the D9D9 lobby loads it shows a Permission Notice asking to allow notifications, with a Cancel button.
D9D9 Session ExpiredA session expired message means the lobby no longer recognises your browser as signed in.

A captcha is a small test that asks you to prove you are a person before a page lets you continue. On the D9D9 lobby, a mobile H5 web app that opens in a plain phone browser (the background is in HTML5 games and the browser), the pages load Cloudflare Turnstile and GeeTest human-verification scripts. That gives you two families to recognise.

5 captcha kinds at a glance

The table lists five kinds. The first three are the ones the lobby’s pages load scripts for; the last two are common elsewhere and are here so you can tell them apart.

#KindWhat you doWho makes it
1Turnstile managed checkboxTick a box when one appearsCloudflare
2Turnstile non-interactive or invisibleNothing; it runs in the backgroundCloudflare
3Slide puzzleDrag a piece into a gap in the pictureGeeTest
4Image gridTap every square that holds the named objectVarious, for example reCAPTCHA
5Text or mathsType distorted letters or an answer such as 3 + 5Various

You may meet a Turnstile checkbox or a GeeTest slide puzzle. The pages decide when, so do not expect the same one every time.

Turnstile: the captcha that often does not show

Cloudflare describes Turnstile as a “smart CAPTCHA alternative” that works “without showing visitors a CAPTCHA”. It runs small non-interactive JavaScript challenges that gather signals about the visitor’s browser, and its managed mode “automatically decides whether to show a checkbox based on visitor risk level”. Non-interactive and invisible modes never ask you to do anything.

  1. Wait a few seconds when the page says it is checking.
  2. Tick the box if one appears.
  3. Do not reload while it spins; a reload restarts the check.

Puzzle captcha: how the slide works

A puzzle captcha, in GeeTest’s description, asks you to “drag a puzzle piece into the correct spot on an image”. GeeTest says the security comes from “behavioral biometrics of the drag action, such as speed, acceleration, and jitter”. So a jerky or instant drag can fail even when the piece sits in the right place.

Drag habitResult to expect
One smooth drag, steady speedBest chance to pass
Stopping and startingThe drag looks irregular
Letting go before the gapFail and a new puzzle
Problem

The slide puzzle fails again and again

Fix

Hold the phone steady, drag with one finger in a single smooth motion and release only when the piece sits in the gap. If three tries fail, reload the page and start the sign-in from the top.

When a captcha will not pass

Most loops come from the connection or from stale site data, not from you.

Problem

A Turnstile checkbox spins or reappears without letting you through

Fix

Switch between Wi-Fi and mobile data, switch off a VPN and reload. Then clear the lobby’s own data: in Chrome on Android, tap the page info icon at the left of the address bar, choose Cookies and site data and delete the stored data. If the sign-up form still stops you after the check passes, the cause is probably the number field, so read the phone number format for the +63 field.

Problem

The check keeps asking for notifications or fills the screen with prompts

Fix

Those prompts are separate from the captcha. Press Cancel on the Permission Notice and close each popup with its close button; the push notifications steps cover the rest. A check that appears sideways or cut off may also be an orientation matter, so see landscape mode.

FAQ

What is a captcha?

It is a test meant to separate a human visitor from an automated one. Cloudflare calls Turnstile a smart CAPTCHA alternative that gathers signals from small non-interactive challenges, while GeeTest's slide asks you to drag a piece into place.

Which captcha does D9D9 use?

The lobby pages load Cloudflare Turnstile and GeeTest human-verification scripts, so you may meet a Turnstile checkbox or a GeeTest slide puzzle. Read what the screen shows when it appears.

Why does the slide puzzle keep failing?

GeeTest describes the slider as judging the drag itself, such as speed and jitter. Slow down, drag in one smooth motion and place the piece in the gap without lifting your finger early.
